Needing a Miracle - Chapter 1

Early one evening, I got a call from a girl, crying on the phone.  She was asking me to help her get into college, and help her find ways to pay for college.  Later, I would learn that she is the second child of a single mom who has six children.  A few years ago, they had left her father, who is a convicted sex offender, and went to a homeless shelter.  From there they moved into a friend’s apartment.  Now, their church has helped them get into a home.

Over the past 15 years, I have helped high school kids get into college, and helped them find ways to pay for college.  I have never asked to be paid for my services; I have a day job that pays my bills.  I do this out of love, and to be a miracle to others.  Interestingly, the families that I help have evolved to be mostly single-mom families, living on the financial edge, and looking for a better life for their high school children.  Today, this #2 daughter has graduated from high school, and will be starting her second year in college.

It has taken single mom five years to get divorced, and cost her over $80,000, monies that depleted her savings, and monies borrowed from family and friends.  Now, sex offender, wants full custody of children #4, #5, and #6, and is demanding child support and complete termination of her parental rights.  He has access to a lot of money, and has hired the best family law firm in the area.  At one time, he had worked in the legal industry, and has access to judges and lawyers.  Single mom, on the other hand, has exhausted all of her financial resources and has no connections.  She needs a miracle to keep her children.

Sex Offender cannot be allowed to succeed in taking full custody of the children.  Child #4 is a 13 year old boy, who is of the greatest concern due to the father's criminal record.

Proverbs 11:25 “He who refreshes others, you will be refreshed.”  If you are a miracle to others, you will have a miracle.

We are asking you to be the miracle to this single mom.  Any donation will be a blessing.  If you are not able to donate, any spiritual support and encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
